And Along Came Truth!

I am amazed at how easy it is for some folks to accept anything. Take for instance the cell-phone. We all have them now and we love the convenience. But is it really a convenience. It is another item in my pocket, it is another bill to pay, it rings at the most inappropriate times, it lies silent a lot. The truth is we did business fine before these little contraptions.

Then there is church. Unbelieveably, many folks attend church as close as they can to home and endure false doctrine, dog and pony shows, and endless mind numbing social programs. It is another fruitless endeavor, it is another tithe or offering, it clouds up your week, they ask for your help at inappropriate times, you sit silent in the pew a lot. But you could have drove some additional miles, heard right doctrine, given your money to doctrinally sound missions and evangelism and not had to endure any dog and pony shows, loud music and endless social programs. Along came truth, but you opted for being close to home.

You had better think long and hard about your choices about church. Read John 4 and see what Jesus says His Father is looking for in the way of worshipers. He only seeks out those who worship Him in spirit and in truth. Seems to me that a few extra miles to worship in this manner is a far less price to pay than to hear Jesus say, "depart from Me, ye worker of iniquity, I never knew you." Along comes truth and you let it pass you by.
