Maybe I Have...

In the midst of what seems to be a somewhat hectic schedule, I find myself sitting here attempting to begin a blog page. My father has recently passed away, my mother is recovering from 3 heart attacks and now living with my wife and I, and I am pastoring a church and doing other work to supplement our income. ,I am also trying to rehab my mother's home to sell it or whatever. Meanwhile, God has endeavored for us to find a building in which to house our little congregation and of all things, He found one and even provided the finance for it through the graciousness of several sister churches. The building needs alot of repair, but it isn't anything that the Lord can't handle.

It has been amazing to watch the Lord work. From preventing my dad from having a long season of suffering with the cancer that raged in his body, to bringing my mom through pneumonia and 3 heart attacks, all while my dad was dying of cancer, to putting a building and finance for it in our path, God has blessed us mightily. But isn't that what God does? Most certainly. Being sovereign over all things, time and space included, there is nothing He cannot do for His children, and He does so with unphatomable blessings. And what do we have to offer Him in return? Nothing at all. Our righteousness is filthy rags. All we can do is praise, honor and worship Him for what He does, and then try to serve Him with some simblance of regularity and loyalty.

So why start a blog page, and especially one entitled, "Going To Seed?" It has been often said that I am hung up on the sovereignty of God, election, predestination, the Doctrines of Grace, etc., in other words, they say I have gone to seed. Well...I have always been under the impression that all plants that produce any kind of fruit...start with a seed. Am I wrong in my impression? So if I have "gone to seed", shouldn't that seed produce some fruit? I think so...well, at least I hope so. In fact, I say to all my detractors..."if it is in the Bible shouldn't we be preaching it?" To which many have said, "but you don't have to use the buzz words." To which my good friend Brother Richard Heatherly would say, "them ain't buzz words! Them are Bible words!" So here on this page I will have my say (and even let you have yours, (see comments)), and "go to seed." We'll see if it will produce fruit.

Also watch this blog for posts from my other sovereign grace brothers. Some of them are unfortunatetly "going to seed" with me. I bet we are going to have more fruit than we can eat! Stay tuned...it can only be fun.
