IT IS SIMPLY TER-R-RIFIC!
Our God is a sovereign God who loves His children sovereignly. He supplies their need according to His riches in Glory and never fails to do so with uncanny efficiency.
Just today I spent an hour with a local attorney giving him info about our little church. Why? Seems that the Lord has allowed us to purchase 1.7 acres with a building on it and the attorney was doing the deed transfer! You see, our little congregation has been meeting for the last four and 3/4 years in a building that is not our own. We have been renting the 7th Day Adventist church locally. They have it on Tuesdays and Saturdays, we have it on Wednesdays and Sundays. The rent was just right, but it was not our church, and we feared that alot of folks were not taking us seriously seeing that we had been there nearly five years. We have been praying right along for a place of our own and seeking someway to have our own place of worship. But every thing we looked at was too expensive see that we were only able to place about $13,000 in savings after expenses, and that over 5 years. Of course, God knew our need and when the time was right, He put a place right in our path that was selling for $60,000. The building was solid, but needed much repair. Yet, a pastor friend of mine who is a general contractor, as well, said it was worth every penny. We began to pray, not that the Lord would give it to us, nor did we "name it and claim", but we prayed, "Lord have Thine own way in it if it be Thy will." It must have been. First, a gracious couple from a sister church sent $2,000. Then another church that has a mission plan sent us $20,000 as a gift and an interest free loan of $40,000. Another church has sent $200. Another church is talking about pledging $200.00 per month to help pay the loan back. Another church is considering giving us $5,000 which will go to install central heat and air, plus they intend to give us chairs and tables, and a spinet piano. All this in the space of 4 months. Isn't God great?
So by the weekend, we will be the proud recepients of God's blessing to grant us a building. We have a lot of work to do and some fine brothers and sisters have pledged to help with repairs. We are going to need more finance, but we are sure that God will provide this also. Pray with us as we show our gratitude to our Lord, and pray for us that we will do right by Him in our worship, service and duty for Him. He has amazed us, and we stand in the presence of a wondrous and Holy Father speechless except for this: "Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!
